Chain of Custody Committment Statement

Central Michigan Paper Company
Chain of Custody Commitment Statement
April 30, 2015

Central Michigan Paper Company (CMP) is committed to the support of sustainable forest management and thereby agrees to follow the Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody and Multi-Site Standards and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative 2015-2019 Standard in providing responsible chain-of-custody for FSC and SFI certified paper products.  Central Michigan Paper Company commits to legal ownership of certified materials. CMP will maintain documented procedures for the chain of custody using the Transfer System for FSC certified products and the Physical Separation Method for SFI certified products.

CMP has been FSC CoC Multi-Site certified since June 2007. CMP is currently working towards SFI CoC certification.

Central Michigan Paper Company has appointed a management representative to implement and maintain all chain-of-custody requirements of the applicable Forest Stewardship Council and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Chain-of-Custody Standards.

An executive management representative shall have overall corporate responsibility and authority for the chain of custody processes of Central Michigan Paper Company’s SFI certification.  Individual divisional management representatives will hold specific responsibility and authority for the chain of custody processes at their respective certified sites.  Each site manager acknowledges and agrees to the general obligations and responsibilities of participation of the FSC multi-site certificate and SFI certificate as long as it is in force as stipulated by the chain of custody standards and CMP’s Central Office documented procedures.  Finally, each site manager recognizes CMP’s central office as the administrative authority of the FSC multi-site certificate and SFI certificate and therefore each site is subject to the central office documented systems and reporting requirements.
